KennelCam works with the cameras you already have — Dahua, Hikvision, and most major brands. No ripping out existing kit. Dean (our installer) connects a small cloud gateway device to your network switch and the platform finds your cameras automatically.

What could you charge customers?

Do I need to buy new cameras?
In most cases, no. KennelCam works with most existing CCTV cameras including Dahua, Hikvision, and the common OEM brands like Cortex, Cognitio, and Eagle. Our installer will assess your setup and let you know if any upgrades are needed before committing to anything.
Is it complicated to set up?
Not for you. Our installer handles everything on-site — connecting the cloud gateway to your network, verifying each camera is detected, and confirming the stream is live. Most setups are done in an afternoon.
How does the dog owner access their camera?
You send them a secure link and a PIN — by text, WhatsApp, or email, whatever works for you. They tap the link on any device (phone, tablet, laptop), enter their PIN, and they're watching live. No app to download, no account to create.
Can a customer see other dogs' cameras?
No. Each customer gets a unique link tied to specific cameras you choose. They can only see what you give them access to. Other customers' feeds are completely separate.
What if my broadband goes down?
If your internet connection drops, the stream pauses until it's restored. The platform handles reconnection automatically. We recommend a minimum of 10Mbps upload speed — most standard business broadband connections are more than sufficient.
Is there a contract?
No long-term contract. KennelCam is billed monthly and you can cancel at any time. The only upfront cost is the one-off installation, which is separate from the monthly subscription.
What about GDPR and data protection?
The platform stores footage in the cloud with full encryption. Access is PIN-protected and audit-logged. As the kennel operator, you remain the data controller for your cameras — we can provide documentation to support your GDPR obligations.
Can I show specific areas only — not the whole kennel?
Yes. You choose which cameras each customer can see. You might show the communal play area and reception, but not the private kennels of other dogs. Full control sits with you.
